Impact Report
A word from our Executive Director
This past year has been a powerful testament to the resilience of our community. We began 2025 still rebuilding from Tropical Storm Helene, then faced the challenge of devastating county-wide wildfires. As spring arrived, we navigated a surge of kittens, remaining at or near capacity for much of the year. In August, I was honored to resume my role as Executive Director, returning to an organization that has grown so impressively since my departure in 2018.
Through every high tide of need, your generosity was our constant foundation. It made every critical effort not just possible, but powerfully effective.
It was your support that empowered us to provide exceptional care for the thousands of animals who came through our doors. It funded our low-cost community pet wellness clinics that offer a lifeline to families in need. It gave us the means to undertake a major renovation of our dog housing—and the herculean task of housing over 30 dogs with fosters while we worked. Most importantly, your compassion resonated in every facet of our work: in the joyful adoption of a patient shelter animal, in the relief of a local pet owner receiving support, and in the unwavering kindness of our volunteers.
As we step into 2026, we are filled with hope and excitement. Thanks to you, we are now able to open our doors seven days a week, expanding our capacity for care and connection. We are ready to build on the resilience of the past year, deepen our community impact, and continue creating a more humane future, one act of kindness at a time.
With deepest gratitude,
Tracy Elliott
