Orphaned Bottle Baby Kitten Care 101

Babies, babies, babies!

In this class we will go over the specifics involved with caring for our most precious and critical shelter animals: bottle babies. Attendees will learn how to properly feed them, keep them warm and comfortable, and get them through their most crucial life stage.  You may even get to see a feeding demonstration on a neonatal kitten!

We welcome anyone interested to attend, no prerequisites and you are not required to be a current foster or volunteer! After all, you never know when you'll stumble across some babies that need you!

Adoption Processing 101

Our counselors need your help! Want to get more involved with adoptions and play a larger role on the front end? Do you enjoy working with the public? If you said yes, maybe adoption processing is for you! Join us for this hands-on training to learn how to process adoptions and see our animals through the final stages of reaching their forever homes! 

Community Solutions Ambassador Class

Asheville Humane Society's nationally-recognized Community Solutions Program has positively impacted the lives of thousands of pets and their people in Buncombe County and now, you can learn all about what we do!

Attendees will learn the history of our community outreach programming, basic guidelines we follow, and just how much it all means for our community.

Canine Body Language Class

Learn all about what dogs are telling us through non-verbal communication!  This class, taught by dog behavior experts, explores the various expressions of our canine friends and also shows how your body language can influence their reactions to you. 

The material is great for your volunteer or foster work and for your interactions with any dogs you may encounter every day!

Feline Body Language Class

Come learn all about what cats are telling us through non-verbal communication! This fascinating and fun class, taught by Certified Feline Training and Behavior Specialist, Leah Raines, explores the various expressions of our feline friends and also shows how your body language can influence their reactions to you.

The material covered in this class is great for volunteer and foster work and for any interactions with cats you may encounter in your everyday life!

Community Solutions Ambassador Class

If you are interested in learning more about how Asheville Humane Society helps animals and their people in our community, this is the class for you!  The Community Solutions Ambassador Class is designed to give volunteers the basic information needed to represent this important program to the general public both on our campus and out in the community.  Volunteers will learn basic guidelines and information about Community Solutions and what our outreach means to the community.
