Welcome to the Asheville Humane Society Website!
ready to find your true love?
Let Asheville Humane Society be your Cupid this Valentine’s Day with an offer more tempting than the chocolates inside a heart-shaped box! Asheville Humane Society is offering a ‘furry valentine’ for all those lonely hearts looking for true love. Romance- shmomance. Don’t worry about spending this lovey-dovey weekend alone. Instead of hoping for flowers this romantic holiday, receive the gift of unconditional love by adopting a pet from the Asheville Humane Society during our special My “Furry” Valentine adoption weekend February 12-14. Our shelter, located at 72 Lee’s Creek Road, is usually closed for adoptions on Sundays but will be open all weekend to give potential adopters plenty of time to fall in love with their furry valentine. Adoption fees for cats and kittens are usually $85 and $100; however, in celebration of finding the true love of your life, adoption fees for ALL cats and kittens will be waived during these three days! And just to further romance this offer, all cat and kitten adopters will automatically be registered to win a year’s supply of Science Diet cat or kitten food. Show the world you found true love during our “Furry Valentine” Adoption Weekend and SAVE A LIFE. And for those of you already in love, married or committed, fear not, this is a great offer for you as well! Instead of buying your Valentine a gift of jewelry, candy or flowers, come adopt together and give the gift of life. Remember: there’s someone for everyone at Asheville Humane Society!
The newly-constructed Buncombe County Animal Shelter is nearing completion whereas the adjacent Asheville Humane Society Adoption & Education Center is still in the beginning construction phase. Both buildings should be operational by Fall 2010.
Dear Friend of Animals:
Dear Friend of Animals:Soon Asheville Humane Society will relocate to the state-of-the-art Buncombe County animal shelter off of Pond Road near the Farmer’s Market. A few months later, we will open the new Adoption & Education Center. These two facilities will sit side-by-side and provide a safe haven for homeless pets.
The Buncombe County shelter and Adoption & Education Center symbolize the evolution of our organization. They also represent the foresight of the county government and the remarkable support of our entire community.
Still, we need to raise additional funds for the Adoption & Education Center, so we are asking you to consider honoring or memorializing your beloved pet, pet lover, or special event with a commemorative brick or tile that will be placed in the new Adoption and Education Center. For more information or to purchase a brick or tile, please click here.
Asheville Humane Society is thankful for the dedication of our staff, our volunteers, and our animal welfare partners, all of whom share a common goal to save homeless animals’ lives. I hope you will support Asheville Humane Society as an adopter, volunteer, or donor, if you don’t already do so. Please help us save the life of every healthy, adoptable companion animal in Buncombe County.
For the animals,
