Virtual Kitten Shower 2023

Virtual 2023 Kitten Shower Launches

With over 70 kittens under 8 weeks in our care, we need your help making sure our foster team and fosters have the tools and resources they need to help these kittens grow big and strong!

ASHEVILLE, NC-As kitten season arrives, Asheville Humane Society is hosting a virtual kitten shower. With many neonatal kittens already in foster care and many more expected to come through our doors, the kitten shower wish list includes items that allow volunteers, foster families, and staff to provide lifesaving care with essential items to keep kittens healthy, fed, and well-adjusted as they grow old enough to be adopted.

The Asheville Humane Society foster program is one of the most vital to the organization. Every year hundreds of lives are saved with the help of foster care, most of which are neonatal kittens and puppies. Foster parents are crucial for providing around-the-clock care, such as bottle feeding, monitoring temperature, and socialization.

The kitten shower is instrumental in providing the necessary items to foster families to ensure that they can comfortably do their lifesaving work without having to acquire animal equipment themselves.

Evie Schenkel, Foster Care Manager at AHS, says, “Our foster department sends home all basic care items for each animal that enters a foster home and continues to supply the items until the animal returns for adoption. Having the supplies donated ensures that we are able to continue to do this. It also relieves our budget, allowing us to purchase more intensive and individual need items with the money we save from not having to purchase the basic care items.”

Please consider purchasing an item from the wishlist to help our kittens!
