Pet Helpline

It starts with support.

Our safety net program is here to increase access to pet services so that pet owners don't have to face the difficult decision of surrendering their pet.

Asheville Humane Society's Pet Helpline has moved online!

Whether you are a new or long-time client, the fastest way to reach us will now be by filling out our online forms. You can still leave a voicemail on our Helpline, but it will take us much longer to call you back. DO NOT complete a form AND call about the same situation. This will slow down response times.

Online form submissions are strongly preferred and the fastest way to receive assistance. If you cannot access the forms below, call (828) 761-2008.
Calls, voicemails, and texts may be processed after complete forms submitted through this page.

Veterinary assistance

Our pets are part of the family and when they’re sick we try our best to care for them and give them everything they need. Sometimes veterinary bills can be overwhelming and assistance is necessary.

Pet food and supplies

The Pet Helpline can help provide a number of resources in a time of need, including pet food. Contact us for more information.

Emergency boarding

Emergency short-term pet boarding is temporary, safe housing for a pet whose owner is facing a short-term crisis. The goal is to keep the animal safe and cared for while the owner works through an emergency, then reunite the pet with its owner.
