Join us at the NC Arboretum for the third annual Halloween dog parade The Wizard of Paws! Watch the parade, visit with local dog-themed vendors and enjoy the festivities in the fall gardens. The Wizard of Paws parade starts with a live band and prizes will be awarded for best costumes, judged by AHS's own Tracy Elliott.
We are thrilled to be at the return of Pup-O-Ween at the RAD Beer Garden on Wednesday, October 29th! To join the fun, please register in advance online. Check-in begins at 5 p.m., and there is a $5 entry fee per dog, with every cent of the proceeds donated to Asheville Humane Society to support our mission.
Have you ever wondered why your dog pulls on a leash, jumps up to greet people, and won’t do as you ask? This course will teach you how to communicate with your dog effectively. You will learn the skills necessary to teach your dog basic manners using reward-based training methods. We will build reliable behaviors such as sit, down, stay, wait, come, leave it, tug, and much more!
Join us for a Halloween Dog Costume Contest at Cultivated Cocktails! Enter your pup, enjoy pet portraits & pup cups, and support shelter animals.
Sip & support! Join us at Ivory Road wine bar for a special night benefiting Asheville Humane Society—15% of sales donated! Enjoy drinks, charcuterie, and animal-friendly fun. Bring a wish list item to help even more.
