Jeff Gets it Done!

It's National Volunteer Week and we are highlighting some of the volunteers who are so vital to our organization.

With over 816 service hours, Jeff Levine has been volunteering with Asheville Humane Society for 4 years. Originally, he volunteered twice a week with Community Solutions before leaving that department to focus solely on transportation and relocation, which is currently where he volunteers.

Relocation is an essential part of the work Asheville Humane Society does. As the shelter fills up, our relocation manager helps to find shelters/rescues that have space and can accept some of our animals. Then Jeff steps in! Often leaving before 7:30 am, Jeff takes animals around the state, and even across state borders.  Sometimes, as far away as Pennsylvania. He has helped to drive relocations to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.

In addition to transporting cats and dogs, Jeff has also helped to relocate ducks, geese, and turtles to Carolina Waterfowl Rescue.

Jeff is so important to the behind the scenes work that Asheville Humane Society does. Without volunteers like Jeff, we would not be the organization that we are. Thank you, Jeff!
