What is something you love about your pet? What else should someone know about your pet?:
Meet Hei Hei the Welsummer rooster. In April we bought 6 chicks, and turns out 2 are roosters. The two roosters got along splendid until last week. They have started fighting for pecking order and hens (we don’t have the recommended 1:10 rooster/hen ratio). It has been a hard decision to rehome Hei Hei. He is like a pet to us. He is a beautiful, large, heavy bird - full of personality. He runs up to us when he sees us - sometimes we have bird treats for him. He is respectful and has not been aggressive to adults or our children. He has been held since he was a chick & will let us catch and calmly hold him. He would be a great flock protector for your hens. You should know, he has a loud crow but he does wait until the sun comes up or later to belt it out. Let me know if you have any questions.
