With nearly 8,000 mouths to feed each year, we spend approximately $12,000 on food alone! Being in a shelter can sometimes be confusing to a dog or cat so keeping them healthy and weight-appropriate is a top priority while they are in our care. The animals need a healthy, consistent diet and special needs animals require supplemental nutrition to booster their immune system. Biscuits, peanut butter and chewies also make their time with us more enriching. Humane Hero Monthly Giving Program
Why don’t you stay home and eat dinner in one night a month? Donate the money you save and save a life! For $50 a month you are automatically enrolled in our Humane Hero program. The Lily-Grace Fund
The Lily Grace Fund, established in 2008, enables us to provide life-saving medical care to injured or sick dogs and cats who arrive at the shelter; these animals would otherwise be euthanized without the medical treatment necessary to rehabilitate them. Once rehabilitated, these special pets can be adopted into a loving, new home. Your gift gives them a second chance. Memorial Gift

Matching Gift
If you work for a company with a matching charitable gift program, you can double your gift to the animals. Be sure to include your matching gift form when you mail your donation to our administrative office - we'll submit the form for you. Asheville Humane Society respects the privacy of our donors.
We do not sell or exchange donor information.
Question: If I make a donation, will I receive a tax receipt?
While the smallest donations are not only important to us, but CRITICAL, we are trying to eliminate the exorbitant costs associated with the postage and printing of individual tax receipts to further provide for the animals in our care. Anyone who donates through our web donation page (www.ashevillehumane.org/donate) by credit card will receive an email tax receipt as long as their email address is included with the donation. Donations by check over $50 will receive a tax receipt by mail if a return address for the donation is provided. You may also request a tax receipt for your donation by writing us at admin@ashevillehumane.org (please include your contact information, the method you used to donate, and the amount of your donation). The animals in our care thank you for your understanding.
